Hi,
Do you have any guides for importing attachments into MS CRM?

Thanks,
Check

Hi Check

There are two areas documents can be linked in MSCRM:
  • 'annotation' - can be used to link documents to contacts, accounts etc
  • 'activitymimeattachment' - can be used to link attachments to emails and other activities

For annotation:
  1. Have the annotation entity as a child of account or contact
  2. In the Relationships tab, set primary key as #annotationid and foreign key as #objectid
  3. In the map tab, map the source file path to the field "vf_SOURCEFILEPATH". The source file path should be a complete path to the file on disk; for example: "C:\mydocs\myfile.txt"

The field "vf_SOURCEFILEPATH" is not a real field. Inaport sees the mapping to this field and has code to implement reading the file, translating to a MIME encoded blob, and uploading the file to CRM.

You might also want to map to the "notetext" field, which allows you to write some notes that are visible in teh CRM user interface.

The procedure for attaching a file to an actity such as an email is the same, except that you will have the activty as the parent record, and use the 'activitymimeattachment' entity as the target.

Inaport provides a 'vf_SOURCEFILEPATH' virtual field for this entity as well.

HTH. Let us know if you have any further questions
