Inaport stores most of its configuration information in a file called "ipconfigdata.xml".

This includes information about:
  • where to find the license file
  • all connectors
  • global variables
  • user map

This file is created automatically when you first run Inaport. By default, it is created in:
Code:
c:\Program Data\InaPlex\Inaport\version_number\ipconfigdata.xml

where version_number may be 7.3 or 8.0 (at time of writing).

You can check the current location by going to the Tools menu, 'Config File location'. You can also create a new config file, or select a different file.

Inaport follows a sequence of steps when looking for a config file.

First it checks for a file called 'IPConfigDataFilePath.txt' in the directory it is running from - normally the program files directory it was installed in. If you have multiple installs of Inaport, each install will check in its own directory.

If it is not found there, it then checks in the current users Program Data directory:
Code:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\InaPlex\Inaport\version\IPConfigDataFilePath.txt

If it does not find it in either of those locations, it creates the pointer file in the users data directory, and creates the actual configuration file in:
Code:
c:\Program Data\InaPlex\Inaport\version_number\ipconfigdata.xml

This means that if you want all users to use the same configuration file, you need to either:
  1. create the IPConfigDataFilePath.txt in the program file directory, or
  2. ensure that each user is set up to point to the correct file
