Inaport Product Tour
Inaport version 7.0 is a major new release, featuring hundreds of minor and major enhancements.
The enhancements fall into the following major areas:
- - major changes to Help, many improvements in the User Interface.
- Functionality - Fuzzy Matching
(including user review of possible matches), logging of excluded records to a table,
many others.
- - better documentation capabilities, better handling of many error conditions
- - improvements to memory management, writing to target systems.
- - new Regular Expression engine, enhanced Unicode and culture specific support, matching enhancements.

Usability
A completely new Help System has been introduced and most of the content rewritten. The new help is context sensitive - a pane to the right of the
screen shows the relevant help for any display.
A new Field Mapping Dialogue eases mapping of fields from source
to target, allowing you to see all source and target fields in a full screen display.
Literally dozens of smaller enahncements to the User Interface - nearly every screen
has been checked and enhanced.
NEW - web based community forum and support. Users with current
Software Assurance have access to a priority support forum, where questions will
be responded to by InaPlex within one working day.
Functionality (Professional Edition)
Fuzzy Matching means that it is possible to match when data is
dirty - for example, when company names are mis-spelt.
User Review of Fuzzy Maches allows the user to which is the best
of a set of possible matches. the review can also show records from related tabes;
for example, show all the contacts for a possible company match.
Excluded Record Logging allows all source records that are not
written to the target to be logged to a table in source or target, for subsequent
reporting or analysis.
Management
Printing of profiles (Professional Edition only) means that you can document your
work. Printing has been reformatted and enhanced.
Enhanced logging provides much more detailed informationabout the
progress and end results of jobs. For the professional Edition this includes information
about numbers of transactions completed and rolled back, and detaield informaiton
about each table touched: number of inserts/updates/deletes.
For the Geeks
New Regular Expression Engine provides greatly enhanced functionality,
full Unicode support, higher performance.
New functions for date/time and number formatting and parsing provide
full support for local cultures, allowing you to handle dates and numbers in any
culture around the world.
Improved Match Engine allows matching on date/time and numeric values
in a target database.
New IO Logging capability allows logging of all SQL to the target
system (SQL based systems only currently).
