Installation
Where should I install Inaport?
Inaport can be installed on any server or workstation that is able to access the
source and target data. There are some restrictions:
- If you need to access ACT! (any version), Inaport MUST be installed on the same
system as ACT!.
- If you want to access SalesLogix V6.x or V7.x, you must have the SalesLogix OLEDB
provider installed on the same system, and correctly configured. If you have upgraded
from 6.x to 7.x, make sure you have the correct version of the provider installed.
In addition, be aware of network traffic and performance implications. Inaport will
need to read all te data from the source, and write it to the target. If the source
and/or target data repositories are on a differenet system, the data will need to
move across your network.
Can I install on more than one system?
You can install Inaport on as many systems as required. In addition, the Inaport
configuration file (IPConfigData.xml) cna be installed on a network share if required,
and all installations can use it; alternatively, each install cna use a local copy
of IPConfigData.xml.
