When running Inaport on a new machine, you may encounter the above error when trying to access Excel data suing an Inaport Excel connector.

The most common reasons are that either:
  1. Excel is not installed on the machine, or
  2. A 64 bit version of Excel/Office is installed

The solution in both scenarios is to install the 32 bit version of the 'Office 2007 System Drivers' or the 'Microsoft Access 2013 Runtime'. Either install will provide the Excel drivers required for Inaport to access teh Excel data.

If you have a 64 bit version of Office already already installed on the system, you may run into an error when installing the drivers - the error will suggest that you cannot install 32 bit drivers on a system with Office 64 bit, and that you should uninstall Office and reinstall 32 bit.

You do not need to do this. To install the 32 bit drivers on a 64 bit system:
  1. Copy the installer to a easy to access directory like C:\Temp
  2. Start a command prompt, and change to the temp directory
  3. Run the installer with the "/passive" command line switch, like this:
    AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe / passive
